BRATTLEBORO -- A male juvenile was stabbed and assaulted Friday night near Elm Street and two men have been taken into custody and will appear in Windham Superior Court Monday to answer to the charges of assault and robbery.
Anthony Gonzalez, 32, of Brattleboro and Charles Trowell, 40, of Jersey City, N.J., were taken into custody in the early morning hours following the assault after an investigation by the Brattleboro Police Department.
Trowell has an extraditable warrant from New Jersey for parole violations and was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
He is being charged with being a fugitive from justice and will face extradition to New Jersey.
Gonzalez was held on $5,000 bail.
Both men are scheduled to be in court Monday.
According to the Brattleboro Police Department the juvenile, whose name was not released, showed up at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital with stab wounds, with what the police called a "potentially serious, but minor injury."
The police discovered that the juvenile was assaulted and robbed near Elm Street.
The police say they were able to learn the identity of the two suspects and recovered numerous items of evidence.
The police did not release any more information on the victim.
