BRATTLEBORO -- The Shondes, a Booklyn-based queer band, will play at the Stone Church, 210 Main St., with Putney-based Scrap Iron Spine on Saturday, June 16, at 8 p.m.
This show is part of Brattleboro’s Pride month, and will include an after party with DJ JAX of WGDR/WGDH, Goddard College Community Radio. Admission is on a sliding scale of $10-15, and the show is all-ages.
The Shondes have been described as "traditional Jewish political pop punk," "giddy garage melodics with Sleater-Kinney twist" and "a touch of Bruce Springsteen, a touch of Nashville and plenty of gritty ‘90s pop punk imparting the feel of an instant classic."
The show is part of a month-long celebration of gay Pride, brought to the community by Crossroads, the Men’s Program, This Show is So Gay, Homo Promo and Brattleboro Pride.
