BRATTLEBORO -- On Friday, Fenibo will bring its infectious Afrobeat music back to the Inferno, 19 Elliot St., beginning at 9 p.m. There is no cover charge.

Fenibo (which means "born on a happy day"), is a 12-piece ensemble based in Brattleboro, whose sound celebrates the traditions of Afrobeat and Afropop, playing covers of Fela Kuti as well as their own compositions. Their music weaves together Afrobeat, funk, jazz, reggae and soukous, creating an irresistible dance groove.

In October 2010 Fenibo held its first public show as one of 13 "Felabrations" being held across the country to honor Fela Kuti, the King of Afrobeat. Since then, the band has played benefits, festivals, weddings and local shows.
