PUTNEY -- On Thursday and Friday, at 8 p.m., Yellow Barn continues its summer festival concert series at Next Stage with a program performed by the participants of the Young Artist Program.

In the final concerts of the Young Artist Program, participants explore a variety of works for strings and piano, from works by classical composers to collaborative works created by YAP participants. Patrons can reserve their tickets for these concerts by calling 802-387-6637 or by e-mailing info@yellowbarn.org.

In addition to pieces by Bartók, Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorák, Janácek and Schubert, these concerts will include premiere performances of new works by Alishan Gezgin, Alexander Leon, Phillip Golub, Noah Kahrs, Chase Morrin and Niels Verosky, composer participants in the Young Artist Program.

Under the guidance of YAP faculty members (Fernando Arias, Stephen Coxe, Marka Gustavsson, Mimi Hwang, Qing Jiang, Seth Knopp, Pei-Ling Lin, Violaine Melançon, and Yoon-Jung Yang), the ensembles are collectively exploring this repertoire, working independently and together in performance classes.

Yellow Barn’s Young Artist Program, now in its 13th year, is an intensive chamber music program for 29 outstanding young musicians between the ages of 13 and 20, and is led by Artistic Directors Seth Knopp, piano, and Mimi Hwang, cello. The participants explore a wide range
