Women’s Chorus starts Sept. 12
BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Women’s Chorus starts on Wednesday, Sept. 12, with an Open Sing for Women at All Souls Church, 29 South St., in West Brattleboro, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
All community women are welcome to join in on this evening of singing together, which is also the opening night of rehearsals for the chorus’ 17th year. The chorus meets Wednesdays, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. after the Open Sing, and welcomes all women and girls over 10 who love enjoy singing. Most songs are taught by rote and by ear, so music reading is not required.

West River Valley Chorus
meets Sept. 5
TOWNSHEND -- The West River Valley Chorus and music director Ken Olsson invite all singers and "wanna-be" singers to join for a new season.
Rehearsals begin on Sept. 5, at 7 p.m., at the Townshend Church. The annual holiday concerts will be held on Dec. 9 and 12 in Townshend and Wardsboro, respectively. Reading music is not necessary, but having an ear for music (and a sense of humor) are recommended.
Friends of Music seeks singers

Weekly rehearsals start in mid-September at a location TBA in Brattleboro. The last few rehearsals will be in Christ Church at the corner of Melendy Hill Road and Route 5, just a short distance beyond the Guilford Country Store. World harmony chorus
formed in Keene
KEENE, N.H. -- A world harmony teen and adult community chorus for men and women led by Lynn Mahoney Rowan and Will Thomas Rowan is offered on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m., starting up on Sept. 5, at the Keene Unitarian Church, 69 Washington St.
Participants learn to sing traditional songs from South Africa, Bulgaria, Caucasus Georgia, Quebec, Corsica, American folk and more. No previous experience or music-reading ability required.
Lynn and Will Rowan are veteran workshop leaders with Northern Harmony and Renewal choruses, choral leaders for Village Harmony and recently for Revels North and members of the award-winning trio Windborne.

Springfield Chorus opens Sept. 12
SPRINGFIELD -- The Springfield Community Chorus, directed by Ken Olsson, welcomes newcomers, from teen years on up. (Full-time students don’t even have to pay the $30 per season dues).
Rehearsals start on Monday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. and continue each Monday night until the Saturday, Dec. 1 concert at 7:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Chester. The second concert is at the First Congregational Church UCC, 77 Main St., in Springfield, on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. Rehearsals take place at the Springfield Unitarian-Universalist Church, 21 Fairground Road .
