DUMMERSTON -- The Village Dance Series resumes with a Family Dance at the Evening Star Grange on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
For this evening of community contra and square dances, Andy Davis will play accordion, call and tell a traditional folk tale midway through the evening. Laurie Indenbaum will be the fiddler.
A chicken pot pie fundraising dinner to benefit the grange will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m.
Two other dances in this series will take place Oct. 13 and Nov. 10 at the Evening Star Grange. These dances will be preceded by a community potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. Bring a dish and plates and silverware.
The Village Dance Series provides an opportunity for families and friends to come together to enjoy one of New England’s traditional pastimes. Experience is not necessary, as all the dances are taught.
Although the dances are geared for school age children, all ages and abilities are welcome. Refreshments will be available. The program will include traditional New England contra dances, square dances, circle mixers, and couple dances.
Admission is $4 for children, $7 for adults and $20 for a family. For more information, call Robin or Andy Davis at 802-257-1819 or e-mail email@example.com.
