PUTNEY -- Sandglass Theater presents the 8th Puppets in the Green Mountains Festival, Sept. 22-30.

Co-directors, Eric and Ines Bass, themselves recipients of numerous prestigious awards for their work in puppet theater, have invited companies from Turkey, Quebec, Spain, Poland, Israel, and Finland, as well as Connecticut and Vermont, to perform in the 2012 Festival.

Offerings range from those created for the very young and for families to performances for adults. Venues in Putney, Bellows Falls, Marlboro, Dummerston and Brattleboro include intimate theater spaces, a black-box theater, an historic opera house, an art deco arts center, an apple orchard and a rural grange hall.

A full Festival schedule is available at www.puppetsinthegreenmountains.com or by calling 802 579-4554. Tickets can be purchased online or at the festival’s box office at New England Youth Theatre, 100 Flat St., Brattleboro, now through Sept. 28. Advance ticket purchase is recommended as most performances sell out. All performance venues are wheelchair-accessible.
