Shape note sing

BRATTLEBORO -- All are welcome to sing shape note music on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 3 to 5:30 p.m., at Centre Congregational Church, 193 Main St.

Shape note singing is powerful, a cappella singing in four-part harmony -- joyful, deeply moving, and spiritual. Listeners, beginners and people of all ages are invited to sing. No musical experience is necessary. Music books will be available for loan or purchase. A potluck snack will be shared.

Community chorus

GREENFIELD, Mass. -- Greenfield Community Chorus, under the direction of Crystalline Ruby Muse, seeks singers of all ages and skill levels for its fall season. The chorus’ repertoire includes songs from a wide-range of genres.

Chorus rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays, from Oct. 2 through Dec.11, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Greenfield. A winter concert will take place on Dec. 15.

The tuition for the season is $80-120 on a sliding scale, half-price for students and seniors.
