CHESTER -- Each year in November, Misty Valley Books invites Vermont writers to come to the First Universalist Church in Chetser’s Stone Village on Sundays at 2 p.m. to share their work in a series called Vermont Voices.

As has been the case since the beginning of Vermont Voices 11 years ago, Archer Mayor, mystery writer and raconteur, returns this year on Nov/ 4, with his new -- and 23rd -- Joe Gunther tale, "Paradise City," which unfolds this time in Vermont, Boston and Northampton, Mass.

Mayor is a medical examiner, EMT, lab technician, fireman, policeman, scholar, editor, researcher, photographer, medical illustrator and Newfane resident, as well as being a novelist and winner of the New England Booksellers Association award for fiction.

On Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m., Willard Sterne Randall, historian, investigative journalist and biographer will present his latest book, "Ethan Allen, His Life and Times."

On Sunday, Nov. 18, former Vermont Governor Madeleine Kunin will be at the Stone Church at 2 p.m., with her new book, "The New Feminist Agenda: Defining the Next Revolution for Women, Work, and Family."

Book signings and receptions follow the events, all of which are free. For more information, call Misty Valley Books at 802-875-3400 or visit www.mvbooks.com.
