BRATTLEBORO -- The Arts Council of Windham County, a 37-year-old organization whose mission is "to strengthen the environment for artists and arts organizations in Windham County," is holding a forum on funding and its annual meeting next week.
Artists and arts organizations are constantly trying to find money and other resources. What sources of funding are working for artists in Windham County and how do we make better use of them? This is the topic of the next in the ACWC series of Artists’ Forums to be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Sylvester Studio in the Cotton Mill.
The Arts Council of Windham County, in partnership with the Vermont Arts Council is presenting this forum to help artists make the most the opportunities currently available. Sonia Rae of VAC will bring the latest information on grant sources. Steve Procter will co-lead the event with a Windham County focus, and special guests will share their experiences with newer and less usual funding sources including crowd sourcing, corporate sponsorship and patron cultivation.
The forum will begin with a dessert potluck (bring something to share, coffee provided) and tours of the Cotton Mill. The forum is appropriate for all artists, craftsmen, and anyone involved in funding projects
The public is invited to the 37th annual meeting of the Arts Council of Windham County on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., at the Brattleboro Savings
