Walpole Players casting for ‘Christmas Carol’

WALPOLE, N.H. -- The Walpole Players announce the fifth annual production of Charles Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol" as its gift to the community, to be held in The Helen Miller Theater at the Walpole Town Hall on Dec. 12-15.

Open auditions will be held Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m., in the Helen Miller Theater on the second floor of the Walpole Town Hall. With a cast numbering almost 50, all are invited to come and audition to join the fun. Children through seniors are needed.

In the keeping of the Christmas Spirit, as learned by Ebenezer Scrooge, the performances will again be held to benefit area food banks.

Gathering in Gratitude is Nov. 17

BRATTLEBORO -- On Saturday, Nov. 17, at 4:45 p.m., at Latchis 4, join Mahalo Art Center’s 2012 ensemble for a simple ceremony of gratitude and the premiere viewing of "Gathering in Gratitude 2012: The Source" by filmmaker Chip Duggan.

Gathering in Gratitude has been offered in Brattleboro annually, just before Thanksgiving, since 2007. Gathering in Gratitude is a journey for community healing inspired by an ancient Native American practice of giving thanks for all of nature. Proceeds benefit Project Feed the Thousands.

‘Green Gold Game’ presented at MSA

SAXTONS RIVER -- Donald Saaf and Julia Zanes will offer performances of their original production The "Green Gold Tree" on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, at 7 p.m., at Main Street Arts. The two-hour marionette show based on Goethe’s "Faust" features 32 marionettes conceived and created by Zanes, live music, shadow puppets and projections.
