Comedian sends up Dickens in
’Totally Scrooged’

GRAFTON -- Comic actor Pickles Reese presents "Totally Scrooged," a saucy solo sendup of Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol" on Friday at 7:30 p.m., at Grafton’s Town Hall Auditorium, 117 Main St.

Now in its 20th season, this show has delighted audiences from Cape Cod to Cape Canaveral. Always cutting edge and topical, the evening overflows with local color and references as Reese transitions from character to character, and scene to scene with wit and humor, while preserving the story’s timeless message.

The performance is suggested for mature audiences.

Walpole Players
stage fifth annual ‘Christmas Carol’

WALPOLE, N.H. -- The Walpole Players’ fifth annual production of Charles Dickens’ classic "A Christmas Carol" continues at The Helen Miller Theater at the Walpole Town Hall on Thursday through Saturday.

The performances begin at 7 p.m., when Charles Dickens arrives to read his classic tale. In conjunction with Dickens’ reading, the Walpole Players perform 12 scenes from the story as the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future escort Scrooge through his redemption and transformation.

For this fifth production many new effects have been added.

In the keeping of the Christmas Spirit, as learned by Ebenezer Scrooge, the performances will be held to benefit the Fall Mountain Food Shelf and Our Place Drop-In Center which have both long provided meals and needed groceries to people in Alstead, Acworth, Langdon, North Walpole, Walpole and in Vermont in Bellows Falls, Saxtons River, Westminster.

Admission is free, but tickets are required because of limited space. Tickets are available in Walpole at Real to Reel, Galloway Real Estate, Costume Ladies, Murray’s and Jake’s. In Bellows Falls, tickets may be obtained at Village Square Booksellers. In lieu of paid admission, the Walpole Players ask each person attending to make a monetary donation to the Fall Mountain Food Shelf and Our Place Drop-In Center.

Small Pond’s ‘Christmas Carol’ continues

MARLBOROUGH, N.H. -- Small Pond Productions presents its own musical adaptation by Jon R. O’Brien of Charles Dickens’ "A Christmas Carol," directed by Traci Booth.
