BRATTLEBORO -- On Friday at 7 p.m., Chestnut Hill House Concerts will present the father-daughter singer-songwriter duo of Pierce and Grace Pettis in a house concert in Brattleboro.
Each will perform their own songs. Tickets are 15. For reservations and information, call 802-251-0681.
Pierce Pettis’ songs have been covered by Garth Brooks, Dion, Joan Baez and Art Garfunkel. His fifth album for Compass Records, "That Kind of Love," has received rave reviews from XM/Sirius Satellite Radio, Paste Magazine, American Songwriter and The (London) Sunday Express.
Grace Pettis won the Kerrville Festival songwriting competition in 2011, just as her father had in 1987 -- the year she was born. Having also won the Dallas Wildflower Festival and NPR Mountain Stage’s songwriting competitions, her debut album garnered acclaim from Sirius/XM, iTunes, the Dallas Morning News and others. As for her new release, "Two Birds," Arthur Wood in Maverick Magazine (UK) writes, "If you purchase only one album this year, ‘Two Birds’ is it!"
