MARLBORO -- Award-winning pianist Renana Gutman performs at Marlboro College in the second of this year’s Music for a Sunday Afternoon concert series, performing on Feb. 3, at 3 p.m.

The concerts are free and open to the public.

Gutman will be joined by violinist Tessa Lark and cellist Alice Yoo for a selection of piano trios. They will perform Beethoven’s Piano Trio in E-flat major, op. 1, no. 1 and Schubert’s Piano Trio in B-flat major, op. 99.

Gutman has been praised by the New York Sun for the "true poetry in her phrasing." A Marlboro Music Festival participant, she has performed across three continents, including the Jerusalem and Haifa symphonies, Belgium’s I Flamminghi and Doctors Orchestral Society in New York.

Gutman has been a top prizewinner at a number of international piano competitions, including the Los Angeles Liszt competition. She is a graduate of Mannes College of Music, where she studied with Richard Goode and received both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.

Lark has performed widely with a number of symphonies and orchestras, and was a featured soloist with both the Beijing Symphony and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Yoo has performed extensively throughout the United States and abroad as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician, and is a top prizewinner of a number of cello competitions. Both are graduates of the New England Conservatory of Music and past Yellow Barn Music Festival musicians.
