Alafia rocks Dance Party for Catrina

BRATTLEBORO -- Alafia, formerly known as Fenibo, will provide music you can move to at a Dance Party for Catrina on Saturday at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The event is a fundraiser to help Catrina and her family recover from a bone marrow transplant. Partygoers are asked to bring potluck snacks and drinks. Admission is by donation, suggested at $12 with a $20 family maximum.

SugarHouse farewell to help local food banks

GREENFIELD, Mass. -- Funk/rock favorites SugarHouse host a benefit for local food banks and a "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" farewell party for departing members Jaye and Eric Simms on Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m., at The Arts Block, 289 Main St. The celebration is an open stage, and musicians are encouraged to bring instruments to join in. PA, drums, amplifiers and keyboards will be provided. Admission is free. Everyone is urged to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to local food banks. Donations will be split between Brattleboro, Vt., and Greenfield food banks.
