BRATTLEBORO -- Just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day, Molly Melloan’s Irish Gathering returns. On Saturday, March 16, starting at 7:30 p.m., Melloan and her band will present an evening of music and stories.

Spanning the Irish traditional and alternative playbook, there will be everything from haunting airs to rowdy drinking songs, reels, jigs, slides, readings from Irish greats and some surprises. The very first Gathering was performed at the Common Ground in 1984 and the tradition has continued almost every year since.

Melloan on vocals, whistles and keyboard, will be joined by James Pentland on guitar, Louisa Engle on fiddle, Chris Bakriges on keyboard, Dan Lydon on bodhran and Sir George on vocals and spoken word.

The show is being held this year at the Bluedot, a large hall upstairs in the Hooker-Dunham Building, 139 Main St., Room No. 607. Tickets are $7.
