CHESTER -- Vermont Institute for Contemporary Arts and the Rockingham Arts and Museum Project will host a Winter Artists Town Meeting potluck at VTica, 15 Depot St., on Thursday, March 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
For the last four years, RAMP has hosted quarterly Artists Town Meetings. Artists, artisans and local food growers are welcome to attend. The focus of the quarterly meetings is to bring creative people together in order to share ideas and a meal.
"The more we know each other and can identify ourselves as a constituency the more strength and credibility we gain.," said Robert McBride of RAMP. "There is an ever-growing community of working artists and local growers in our midst, all of whom are contributing greatly to the cultural and economic vitality of our communities. One of RAMP’s many roles is to be an advocate for these artists. In order to be effective in that role, RAMP creates and participates in opportunities to hear from local artists and assist them in making community connections that benefit us all."
VTica is a non-profit gallery and school dedicated to supporting the innovative contemporary artist, creating an inviting space to engage the community through diverse thought-provoking art works.
McBride says that RAMP is committed to collaborating and co-hosting four Artists Town Meetings throughout the year. The meetings are informal and open to all. One of the items for discussion will be Open
