Ha-Ha’s, guests bring improv comedy to Arts Block

GREENFIELD, Mass. -- The Happier Valley Comedy Show returns Saturday at 8 p.m., to the Arts Block at 289 Main St., featuring the area’s hottest improvised comedy troupe, The Ha-Ha’s and special guests.

This month, the special guest is the improv comedian Mosie McNally who performs with her team of ImprovBoston alums Elyse Schuerman, Kristina Smarz in Ladies’ Room. This trio revives their show about eighth grade pals beginning high school. The Ha-Ha’s will improvise comedy, and all the comedians will improvise together as a group for the first time ever in fun and free-wheeling improvised games.

This evening of comic entertainment is rated PG-13.

Hourglass Readers present ‘Antony and Cleopatra’

KEENE, N.H. -- The Hourglass Readers will present readings of "Antony and Cleopatra" by William Shakespeare at several area locations from April 14 to 23.

The schedule includes:

* Mount Caesar Union Library in Swanzey on Sunday at 2 p.m.

* Historical Society of Cheshire County, Keene, Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m.;

* The Hancock Public Library on Tuesday, April 16, at 7 p.m.;

* Veterans Hall, Richmond, Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m.;

* Keene Public Library, Auditorium, Tuesday, April 23, at 7 p.m.

All performances are free and open to the public.

Catherine Behrens directs a cast that includes Wendy Almeida, Mark DiPietro, Peter Eisenstadter, Morganna Ekkens, Helmut Heidl, Clare Margand, Matt McDougall, Dan Patterson, Chris Pratt, Scott Rodenhauser, Katrina Spenceman and Robert Wellington. Live music will be provided by Jenny Holan.

The Hourglass Readers are dedicated to performing readings of classical works in abridged versions, allowing actors and audiences to explore works not often performed. The Hourglass Readers is a performing partner with The Edge Ensemble Theatre Company of Keene.
