BRATTLEBORO -- New England Youth Theatre presents three different shows this week: "The Tempest," "Hairspray" and Theatre Adventure’s "Extravaganza Happening." There will be something for everyone.

The way "Get Thee to the Funnery" plays are constructed audiences will be engaged, with mouths wide open as they watch the junior company bravely and boldly tackle Shakespeare’s fantastic language, plots and puns. Performances are Thursday at 3 p.m., Friday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and Saturday at 10 a.m. on the NEYT stage. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

When a theater troupe learns to hold each other up, great things happen. This summer the Theatre Adventure Program developed a "Growing Ideas Laboratory." Students had workshops in acting, creative movement, drumming and creating with fabric and technology. The result? The "Extravaganza!" is an artistic adventure of launching many ideas and weaving together the different theater arts. Theatre Adventure actors might have disabilities and yet their capabilities are vast. There is only one chance to catch this show -- Friday at 7 p.m., at West Village Meeting House in West Brattleboro. Tickets are $7.

Meanwhile, performances continue for the Senior Company production of the hit musical "Hairspray" on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are selling out fast, and cost $11 for students, $13 for seniors, and $15 for adults.
