Within the theater world, Macbeth is widely held to be a cursed play. Even to speak the name out loud is considered bad luck., and this production has encountered more than the usual share of misfortune and trouble. Most notably, Michael Sola (Banquo) was hospitalized with ventricular tachycardia, a serious heart condition, late last year. Yet he showed no hesitation in carrying on with his performance, and returned to rehearsal as soon as his recovery allowed.

Also worthy of special note are Julian Findlay and Brattleboro's own Ian Bigelow. Julian, a Harvard drama graduate, has taken on duel mammoth tasks of directing the play and putting on a chilling performance of Macbeth. Ian has lent of his expertise on medieval sword fighting, and provided the arsenal for the play.

Performances will continue Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m., at the Stone Church, 210 Main St., Brattleboro, Tickets are by donation.
