BRATTLEBORO >> Brattleboro Time Trade's 2nd Annual Spring Forward Extravaganza will take place on Friday, March 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the River Garden 157 Main St. in collaboration with the Arts Council of Windham County and the opening night of the student art show. The Extravaganza will feature a silent auction, a cabaret stage MC'd by Juggler Tony Duncan and showcasing music by Bad to Be Good, The Incurable Semantics, Jesse Lepkoff, and Luz Elena Morey, a dessert bar and cafe, a spring plants table, and new member registration. Dosa Kitchen will also be there serving up their delicious South Indian fare.

The Arts Council of Windham County (ACWC) is celebrating 36 years of Student Arts Month, taking place during the month of March. ACWC has partnered with venues, schools, and teachers to feature the work of young artists throughout Windham County. There are approximately three hundred pieces of art entered in the high school art show alone. This year the 2D works will be hung at the River Garden Gallery, including photography, and the 3D works will be at the Vermont Artisans Gallery 2 on the 2nd floor on Main Street.

The shows will open at 5:30 p.m.,including a reception at the River Garden from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Artwork created by high school students are judged by a panel of professional artists. The public also has the opportunity to vote for their favorite pieces in our "People's Choice Awards." Admission is free.
