GRAFTON >> Hunter Gallery of Fine Art will be celebrating its 10 anniversary this year as it opens for the season this May at its location on 74 Main Street in Grafton.

As in the past, it is featuring the new work of its regular artists and has added three new artists' works to the exhibition. New from New Hampshire is Josee Severino who specializes in animal portraits. She manages to capture the personality of an animal through subtle shadings in pastels.

The gallery has also be added a former New Hampshire resident's pottery. It will feature the graceful vases of Michael Verhoeks. A geophysicist by profession but also a teacher and potter for 14 years, Verhoeks has developed beautiful crystal glazes that make his vases truly unique.

Another addition is the glassworks of Manchester, VT based Andrew Weill. The gallery will exhibit some of his larger artistic works, as well as his ever popular glass pumpkins and votives.

All returning artists have new work to display including paintings from Charlie Hunter, Robert J. O'Brien, Robert Sydorowich, Jane Ashley, Jennifer Litchfield, Gary Eckhart, Robin Frisella, Eric Tobin and Peter Jeziorski. Also featured are the charcoal works of Ailyn Hoey and the wood creations of Tom Raymond.

A special Meet the Artists reception is schedule for June 18 at the gallery from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to meet and talk to our artists. Further receptions are schedule for later in the year. For information call 802-843-1440, or email Hunter gallery is located next to the Grafton Inn in Grafton.
