The five exhibits currently on view at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC) will close on Monday, at 5 p.m. BMAC will then be closed to the public June 14 to 23, for annual building maintenance and the installation of new exhibits, which will open on Friday, June 24 at 5:30 p.m.
"Taking exhibits down is always bittersweet," said BMAC Director Danny Lichtenfeld. "At the same time, it's always exciting to bring in new work and get ready for an opening."
The new exhibits opening June 24 include "Up in Arms: Taking Stock of Guns," a group show featuring artwork having to do with guns; "The Stilled Passage: Photographs of Un-Restored Ellis Island," by Philip J. Calabria; "Union Station: Gateway to the World," which marks the 100th birthday of BMAC's Union Station building; and "Chaos and Light," paintings by Jamie Young. More information is available at brattleboromuseum.org. The museum is located at the intersection of Main Street and Routes 119 and 142, Brattleboro.
