Keene, NH >> Get ready to soar with the Monadnock Waldorf School and the Circus Smirkus as the 2016 flight troupe prepares for take off into another year of circus magic!
Vermont's award-winning international youth circus, Circus Smirkus, is back on the road with its 2016 Big Top Tour, celebrating more than a quarter-century tradition of bringing joy and magic to towns all over the Northeast. The traveling youth circus will perform 67 shows this summer, traveling from the mountains of Vermont to the shores of Maine, with stops along the way in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and upstate New York.
Five area youth from the New England Center for Circus Arts join the group of 30 budding circus stars ages 11 to 18, to bring youthful exuberance and polished circus skills from all parts of the country and the world. The Monadnock Waldorf School proudly presents the 2016 Big Top Tour on July 11 and 12, with shows both days at 1 and 6 p.m., at the Cheshire Fairgrounds in Swanzey, N.H.
This year's tour continues the tradition of Smirkus' theme-based shows with Up, HUP and Away:
