PUTNEY >> Twilight Music continues its 14th annual Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of folk, world beat, rock, jazz, zydeco, Celtic, swing, blues and bluegrass summer concerts on Sunday, with Burlington-based, Americana band Brett Hughes & Friends. The seven concert series continues every other Sunday through Aug. 21. All concerts begin at 6 p.m. in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain. The series is sponsored by the Town of Putney, Soundview Paper Company, The Putney Food Co-op, Green Mountain Well, The Stockwell Brothers and many other Putney businesses and organizations. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Brett Hughes, fiddler Caleb Elder and bassist Pat Melvin feature soaring vocal harmonies evoking timeless mountain traditions and bluesy soul. Brett has been an integral part of the Burlington music scene for decades, performing with bands such as Decentz, Chrome Cowboys,
Monoprix and viperHouse, touring with Shannon McNally, Mike Gordon and Ramble Dove and recording with Eugene Hutz of Gogol Bordello. He is also a recording engineer and producer, and has hosted the weekly Americana showcase Honky Tonk Tuesday at Burlington's Radio Bean for the last ten years.
