Brattleboro >> "Into the Woods," written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, directed by Micheal Trzos, and musical direction by Mary Sugar, is coming to the New England Youth Theatre July 8 through 16. "Little Red Riding Hood," "Jack and the Bean Stalk" and "Cinderella." These are just some of the cherished fairy tale characters we knew as children – hopeful as they ventured into the forest to find happiness in the ever after ... But what happens when you've finished that last page and the book closes? Stephen Sondheim's and James Lapine's "Into the Woods" prowl's through our beloved fairy tales with a modern twist. Whimsically following the trails of unlikely friends to find light in the darkest of forests.

Performances are Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, July 9 at 2 and 7 p.m.; Sunday, July 10 at 2 p.m.; Tuesday, July 12 at 7 p.m.; Wednesday, July 13 at 7 p.m.; Thursday, July 14 at 7 p.m.; Friday, July 15 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, July 16 at 2 and 7 p.m.

Tickets are adult $15, senior $13, students $11, at NEYT is located at 100 Flat St., Brattleboro
