WILMINGTON >> Energy is what makes things happen. Everyone needs more energy than their bodies can produce, so we buy energy from outside sources. Traditionally that has been energy from burning coal, oil and gas. But we have overwhelmed that system. It pollutes our atmosphere and poisons our oceans. We have warmed the earth and oceans by 2°F and acidified our oceans by 9 percent. We have increased the carbon in our atmosphere by 45 percent!

Jeremy Gorman's "Your New Energy" is your guidebook to saving money by saving the earth. It explains "new energy" (solar, wind, geothermal, lunar and hydro energy). There is more New Energy than Old Energy (fossil fuels) and it is everywhere. It comes free to us every day and we can't use it up. On Saturday July 23 at 5 p.m., Gorman will review "Your New Energy" and answer questions at Bartleby's.

Meet your neighbors and get involved. Have celebrations and set new goals. Your grandchildren will thank you.
