BRATTLEBORO >> Have you ever wanted to try dance class? Are you a student or professional and want to find a higher level, city style class? Are you an enthusiast and would love to take some movement classes over a few days? Whatever the reason, your opportunity is now! The Southern Vermont Dance Festival offers over 107 classes from July 14 through 17. With many different ticket options and many different styles at all the levels, there is truly something for everyone.

SVDF touts faculty at the top of their field coming from as far as Singapore. There are classes in ballet, modern jazz, tap and contemporary in every single level from "I have never stepped foot in a dance studio" to "I have danced professionally in New York City for many years". All the faculty teach at all the levels which means that at SVDF one has the unique opportunity of having access to dance educators at the top of their field even if it is their first time in a classroom. Additionally, SVDF loves and promotes alternative and tribal dance genres. This year the festival has classes, in Sambe, Belly Dance, African, Dances Of The Orixas, Improvisation, Yoga, Pilates, Moving with your Chi, aerial fabric, hot in heels and many more.

Throughout the four day festival SVDF offers about 25 classes/day to choose from. Attendees can choose from several different festival passes. Every pass allows attendees to attend performances and take classes. The most popular pass is the Full Immersion Pass allowing people to take two to four classes/day and see 2 gala performances and all the informal performances and community events that they can drink in (on a first come first serve basis). Also offered is a three-day and one-day version of this same pass, allowing people to get the full festival experience in whatever time they have. Another popular option is the dance dabbler which gives people access to one class/day and all the performances. This is a fantastic option for people who want to come and enjoy the dance, but, maybe don't want to take tons of classes.

Whether you would just like to try a couple classes, or you want to suck up as much dance training and knowledge as you can, SVDF truly has something for everyone. For more information, to volunteer or to sponsor this event go to
