BRATTLEBORO >> River Gallery School of Art receives grant from the Dunham-Mason Fund in the support of River Gallery School's established Ability Arts program, serving individuals with disabilities.
River Gallery School of Art recently received a $250 grant from the Dunham-Mason Fund at the Vermont Community Foundation. The grant will support the established Ability Arts program - an educational, vocational, and entrepreneurial program for individuals with a disability that provides opportunities to create, exhibit and sell art.
It is an art program that specializes in serving and supporting individuals with a variety of abilities thereby more fully participating, expressing and fulfilling passions as artists within our community. This program clearly supports the mission and vision of River Gallery School of Art to provide a studio space in which students of all ages explore their creativity through the practice of making art and based on the belief that each person has artistic and creative capacities which, when nurtured, will find unique and valuable
expression. Through mentoring, the school provides the techniques to develop skills, inviting the possibility of art to become a vital force in one's life.
The Dunham-Mason Fund at the Vermont Community Foundation supports endeavors that contribute to the betterment and vitality of the Brattleboro area.
