WARDSBORO >> Pat Del Camp is the artist of the month for August at the Wardsboro Public Library.

Her work, "Enchanted Woodland Habitats," will be on display for the month at the library at 170 Main St., during library hours.

"Enchanted Woodland Habitats are prime real estate for fairies and other folk, imaginary or otherwise," said Del Camp. "Some make their home on the craggy coast, others deep in the forest primeval. They enjoy frolicking in nooks and crannies, and decorate using objects found in nature. They are friendly, peaceful folk and live harmoniously with all who graciously share their environment."

Del Camp says she feels closest to God when she is outdoors and takes delight in the details of His creation.

"A delicate shell ... an intricate pine cone ... a gentle feather, are His gifts to me."

She finds it natural to use "found" objects to create works of art. Starting with a unique piece of driftwood, her Enchanted Woodland Habitats take on a life of their own as she brings together the organic treasures that, in her words, "God has provided." Her hope is that her work will be an inspiration to everyone to take a closer look at the world around us when outdoors and be thankful for the limitless beauty provided.

Del Camp is a native of New Jersey but is a summer resident of West Wardsboro. Her creations come alive in her New Jersey studio or anywhere there is electric to use a glue gun. She has shown her work at many craft fairs throughout New Jersey and won 1st and 2nd prize awards recently at the Deerfield Valley Farm Fair in Wilmington.

A reception will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. at the library.
