WILMINGTON >> Join Bartleby's Books for an evening of Poetry with Tim Mayo and Jeff Friedman tonight at 6:30 p.m. Both poets will be reading from their recent work, answering questions and signing books.
Tim Mayo has worked as a house painter, real estate developer and consultant, theatrical producer and a creative writing teacher. He holds an ALB, cum laude, from Harvard University and an MFA in Writing and Literature from Bennington College. For the last few years he has been studying flying trapeze. Currently he works as a Mental Health Worker in the Adult Dual Diagnosis Unit of the Brattleboro Retreat and as a substitute teacher at the Brattleboro Retreat's Meadows School. Tim will be reading from his new book, "Thesaurus of Separation," as well his previous book of poetry, The Kingdom of Possibilities.
Jeff Friedman received his B.A. in English from Macalester College and an M.F.A. in Poetry from the University of Iowa. He is the author of six collections of poetry including Pretenders and Working in Flour. Since 1994, he has taught at Keene State College, where he and poet William Doreski cofounded the Keene State Writers' Conference. For seven years, he was a core faculty member in the M.F.A. Program in Poetry Writing at New England College. In 2003 he was the Distinguished Poet-In-Residence in the M.F.A. program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Jeff will be reading from his latest book of poetry, Working in Flour, as well as Pretenders.
