BRATTLEBORO >> Get out your finery and don a mask. The Arts Council of Windham County is celebrating the Day of the Dead with a Masquerade Ball!

It will be an evening filled with live contemporary world music, sweet treats (with hot cider of course), and some wine or beer to add to the cheer. Dress in your finery with masks or perhaps Day of the Dead adorned upon your faces with an opportunity to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed.

The Arts Council of Windham County's Baile De Los Muertos (Dance of the Dead) Masquerade Ball takes place Friday, Oct. 28, 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. This special event is a fundraiser linked to the late fall Mexican holiday

The evening will include an official Day of the Dead altar and live music performed by Sirius Coyote. Sirius Coyote has performed in the US and Mexico creating traditional, contemporary world music with an upbeat, fun rhythm, a dance impulse, and activist messages. They bring special traditional Mexican music for dancing, celebrating and commemorating our ancestors.

Enjoy the food, fun and festivities of the evening at the River Garden, 157 Main St., Brattleboro,.
