BRATTLEBORO >> The New England Center for Circus Arts offers its 19th Circus Workshop Weekend, extending extra days from Thursday, Nov. 3 through Monday, Nov. 7 to accommodate the demand for introductory one-off classes, advanced training opportunities for local and visiting students, and a performance for circus fans to attend!
The New England Center for Circus Arts is a comprehensive circus acts training destination with regular programming that includes a three-year professional track for aspiring performers as well as recreational classes for the community and specialty workshops throughout the year.
At this Fall Circus Workshop Weekend, attendees age 12 through adult can pick one or many experiences fitting their skill level and interest. NECCA offers an array of workshops including juggling, stretching, fitness, rhythmic gymnastics, trapeze, aerial silks, a riggers course, an aerial teachers course and more. All participants are encouraged to try something they have never done before, or for those with experience to get advanced training in a specialty area.
For people interested in watching a show, on Saturday, Nov. 5, 7:30 p.m. guest company Open Ring Circus will present excerpts from "The Canary's Silence" alongside an opportunity for visiting students to show off their skills in the Showcase of Circus.
New features in this Circus Workshops Weekend is an Act Creation and Performance Mentorship workshop where attendees sign up to work directly with a coach from NECCA's professional training program to hone material in progress and perform it for practical review and career support.
