Justin Maher scored 3 goals on Saturday as Tyngsboro defeated North Middlesex, 11-8, in local boys lacrosse action after seizing control of the game in the third quarter.
Elsewhere, Lincoln-Sudbury defeated Acton-Boxboro, 19-8, and Bishop Guertin defeated Christian Brothers Academy of Albany, N.Y., 15-7. Chelmsford lost a tight one to South Hadley, 12-10.
North Middlesex 8
A back-and-forth game was 6-5 Tyngsboro at the half, then after the Patriots tied it up in the third quarter the Tigers took back the lead and never looked back.
Austin Coene had 1 goal and 3 assists for Tyngsboro (7-3) while Russell Gillis and Ben Foley scored twice. Matt Solla chipped in with a goal and assist as well and Jamie Croteau found the net. Aoppy Allen made 13 saves in the THS net.
North Middlesex was led by their three attackmen, Will Faulkner (3 goals), Nick Scaltreto (2 goals) and Dan LaCross (2 goals). Also scoring for NMRS was Nate Deignan. Brendan McCarthy made 18 saves in the goal.
South Hadley 12
Nicco Sorrentino had 3 goals and 1 assist for Chelmford (5-6) and Connor Brimley also scored 3 goals.
Zach Lattimore and Bill Grant each scored 2 goals. The Lions at one point trailed 12-6 before rallying late. They twice hit the post down the stretch.
