BRATTLEBORO -- An open house to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Conrad and Jean Waite will be held Saturday, June 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Elks Home on Putney Road in Brattleboro. The event will be hosted by their family. All are welcome to stop by to celebrate with the Waites.

Conrad and Jean Waite of Shoreham, formerly of Vernon, were married on March 3, 1962, in Proctor. Before retiring in 2006 to their lake house in Shoreham, Jean enjoyed a long career as a nurse practitioner in Brattleboro and Hinsdale, N.H., while Conrad taught U.S. History at Brattleboro Union High School for over 35 years.

The Waites spend their free time traveling to visit their four daughters and five grandchildren, as well as enjoying the benefits of living on Lake Champlain.
