In Bellows Falls...

LUNCH MENU: The menu for the week of July 9 at the Bellows Falls Senior Center is as follows:

Monday: Chicken a la king, mashed potatoes, stir fry blend vegetables, oatmeal bread, chocolate cookie.

Tuesday: Spinach and bacon quiche, four bean salad, Italian bread, melon.

Wednesday: Chipped beef, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, wheat bread, blueberry streusel cake.

Thursday: Oven-fried chicken, home fries, broccoli florets, wheat bread, strawberry shortcake with cream.

Friday: Beef Stroganoff, rotini noodles, Brussels sprouts, pumpernickel bread, sliced pears.

The Senior Center services Rockingham, Westminster, Grafton, Athens, North Walpole, N.H., and Walpole, N.H. Senior visitors from other surrounding towns are welcome.

The meal is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. A suggested donation of $3 for those 60-plus years of age is requested. Information: 802-463-3907.

Upcoming trips

The annual trip to Maine and the Ogunquit Playhouse is Aug. 9 and 10. The play is "Damn Yankees: Red Sox" (flyers at the Senior Center). Overnight at the Hampton Inn, lunch before show, and dinner at Warrens. Free time after dinner. Second day, breakfast and cruise to the Isle of Shoals, time at Star Island. Stop at Ruby Tuesdays for lunch on your own. Cost: $259 double; $249 triple; $309 single, includes transportation, lunch, dinner, breakfast, play, overnight stay at Hampton Inn Wells, gratuities to drive and tour director.

On Saturday, Sept. 22, trip with Tye’s Tours to the New Hampshire Highland Games. The trip fee of $99 includes all daytime activities including concerts in the main concert tent, pipe and drum performances, walking through Clan Village, lunch voucher, driver and tour director gratuities, transportation and more.

Tuesday: Breakfast, 7:45-8:15 a.m., Scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, fruit, muffin, yogurt, juice. Lunch: Cheese souffle, eggplant and tomatoes, three-bean salad, apricots.

Wednesday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, seasoned spinach, garlic bread, mango.

Thursday: Roasted turkey, roasted roots, asparagus, cake and ice cream.

Friday: Breakfast, 7:45-8:15 a.m., Whole wheat pancakes, syrup choice, home fries, yogurt, fruit, juice. Lunch: Baked salmon, rice pilaf, roasted vegetables, tropical fruit.

POTLUCK MEETING: The Vernon Senior Group’s potluck and business meeting will be held on Monday, July 9, at noon at the Town Office building, downstairs.

PICNIC LUNCH: The Walpole Seniors will meet for a picnic potluck lunch at noon on Monday, July 16. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share and a lawn chair.
