NEWFANE -- Store owners Keith and Caroline Richards closed the Newfane Market for a few hours on July 21, just long enough for their wedding in the Newfane Congregational Church.

After a lovely ceremony and a brief reception, the bridegroom ended his toast with, "Thank you, Newfane; you’ve made all our dreams come true!" The newlyweds’ dream, to run a store in Vermont, could wait no longer, and they rushed back across the Common to flip the "Open" sign and begin serving customers. Reluctantly, they stepped back out for a quick picture.

Friends and family from all over the country -- bride and bridegroom, with a blended family of five children, have ties to Massachusetts, New Mexico, Texas, California, and Colorado, among others -- would have to wait until after store hours to celebrate with the busy newlyweds.

Live music and reception refreshments were enjoyed outside the Market by family and delighted customers alike.
