PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. -- Dylan T. Decker of Whitingham, Vt., graduated from the U.S. Marine Corps basic training at Parris Island on Aug. 17, as a member of Platoon 3058.

Decker, a 2010 graduate of Twin Valley High School in Wilmington, Vt., will be going into the infantry. He is the son of Todd Decker of Latham, N.Y., and Laurie Brewer, of Whitingham.
