BRATTLEBORO -- Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary No. 2445 will hold a Craft Sale on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Table space is available for $30. Set up will be at 7 a.m.

Newfane Garden Club
NEWFANE -- The Newfane Garden Club will be meeting on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Newfane Congregational Church. The title of the program is "Holiday Decor Double Duty" presented by Alva Jean Unwin from Taylor for Flowers. She will take the audience from Thanksgiving to the Christmas holidays with a clever use of flowers and other materials. Those attending will be taught how to make two-for-one decorations with just a few simple changes.
Hostesses for the meeting will be Gillian Winner and Maggie Bills. Guests are welcome.
Marine Corps League
BRATTLEBORO -- The Marine Corps League, Detachment 798, which meets in Brattleboro, is inviting members of the public to join them in celebrating the 237th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. The Marine Corps Ball will be held at the American Legion, 32 Linden St., on Saturday, Nov. 10.
Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m. and dinner (choice of prime rib of beef or baked stuffed chicken) will be served promptly at 7 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person and must be reserved by Nov. 5.

Following dinner and reading of the Commandant’s message, there will be a traditional cake cutting ceremony followed by guest speaker, Dr. Rob Simpson, president and CEO of the Brattleboro Retreat. Dancing with music provided by the "Solid Old Cadillacs" concludes the affair.
The membership of the Marine Corps League is comprised of those who served in the Corps, as well as medical personnel of the U.S. Navy who served with the Fleet Marine Force. Members include residents of southeastern Vermont, southwestern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.
