American Legion
BRATTLEBORO -- Brattleboro American Legion Unit No. 5 held its regular monthly meeting on Nov. 8 at the Legion Home. The following donations were given: the Reformer Christmas Stocking, $100; the OverFlow Shelter, $100; and Project Feed the Thousands, $100.
The Auxiliary also voted at its last meeting to give $100 to the gift shop at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, $100 to the White River Junction VA Medical Center gift shop, and $100 to the Yellow Ribbon Committee.
The Children’s Christmas Party for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of Post, Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. "The Annie’s" will be the entertainment and there will also be refreshments. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be making a visit with all the children.
The sign-up sheet is now posted on the bulletin board for children through 10 years old. The deadline for signing up is Dec. 1 and it is asked that the names be printed for easy reading and to make sure the children are signed up in the appropriate columns.
Brattleboro Emblem Club
BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Emblem Club will meet Monday, Nov. 19, at the Elks Lodge on Putney Road at 7 p.m. in the office on the second floor. There will be a Memorial Service for our departed sister. Everyone is welcome.

Peg Curtiss was honored with a Life Membership at the last club meeting. The next meeting will be the Christmas party.
