NEWFANE -- C.J. King of Jamaica will present information on the women in Abraham Lincoln’s wife’s family to members and guests of American Association of University Women (AAUW) at a noon luncheon meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Newfane Congregational Church. Members of the public are invited to hear the speaker about 12:30 p.m.

King is author of a book "Four Marys and a Jessie; The Story of the Lincoln Women" published by Hildene in 2005.

The lunch will be catered by Winnie Dolan as a fundraiser for the church. The menu includes chicken and vegetarian casseroles, salad, dessert, coffee and tea. The suggested donation is $10. Reservations should be made with Marion Daley by Feb. 5 at 802-387-5822 or medaley2@myfairpoint.net.

King is currently office manager and grant writer for Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend. She graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism and received a master of fine arts degree in Writing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has written numerous magazine articles, but this is her first book. She first became interested in the Lincoln women when she learned that Mary Harlan Lincoln, Robert’s wife, was an ancestor.
