Brattleboro Camera Club
BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Camera Club will meet Monday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at Brattleboro Savings & Loan, 221 Main St. The entrance is around at the back.
In keeping with the club’s interest in the various uses of the art of photography, the program will feature Zachary Stephens, program director at InSight Photography and former photo editor at the Brattleboro Reformer. He will speak about the profession of photojournalism. In a second presentation, club member Tom Singleton will show some of his work.
Members will bring examples of their work for comment and review. There is no charge for the program and the public is invited.
BRATTLEBORO -- The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Club Home, 54 Chickering Drive, Brattleboro. All members are welcome.
A Craft Sale will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Set up will be at 7 a.m. Table spaces are available for $30. For further information, call Beverly at 603-256-3029.
Kiwanis Club of Brattleboro
BRATTLEBORO -- At its weekly meeting, the Kiwanis Club of Brattleboro made plans to participate in the Gallery Walk on Dec. 6, Ringing the Bell for the Salvation Army in mid-December and the 2014 Golf Tournament.
The club is exploring the establishment of a sponsored club at Brattleboro Union High School that would provide students with a mechanism to provide service to the community through Kiwanis connections.
The Kiwanis Club of Brattleboro seeks interested persons who wish to serve the community through the organizational efforts of the Kiwanis program. For information call President David Patriquin at 802-258-3076.
Evening Star Grange
DUMMERSTON -- Evening Star Grange No. 154 will not meet on Monday, Oct. 14, due to the holiday and post-craft fair exhaustion. Members who can work on the craft fair clean-up committee from 3:30 p.m. to finish on Sunday and have not contacted the secretary at 802-257-0387 are asked to do so. The next regular meeting will be Monday, Oct. 28.
American Legion Auxiliary
BRATTLEBORO -- Brattleboro American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 5 is hosting a Safety Coffee Break at the Southeastern Vermont Welcome Center in Guilford on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Monies raised at this event will be used for the Units programs for veterans, their families, children, and the community.
Members will be calling other members to solicit donations. Any member who does not receive a call, is asked to call President Lori Nelson at 802-380-6179 with any questions or to let her know what they can donate. All help will be greatly appreciated. Items may be left at the Post home on Tuesday earmarked for the Auxiliary.
Brattleboro Garden Club
BRATTLEBORO -- Alva-Jean and Dan Unwin, owners of Taylors for Flowers, will demonstrate a variety of designs for fall arrangements on Monday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. at the Brattleboro Floral Arts and Garden Club meeting.
The Unwins will emphasize how to incorporate dried materials collected from the garden, as well as fresh flowers. This meeting will take place at the Green Mountain Chapel at 480 Western Ave. in Brattleboro.
