WESTMINSTER -- Kayla Gilcrist has been named the November Elks Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School. Kayla, a senior, is the daughter of Ruth Gilchrist of Bellows Falls.

With near perfect attendance, Kayla is a dedicated student who works hard in her classes. Determined to do well, she asks good questions, is attentive in class discussions and is willing to participate in class activities. Kayla is open to feedback and is agreeable to putting in the extra time to do well.

Kayla is focused, not only on her academics, but about life in general and she understands how important her school work is to meeting her future goals.

Kayla is a positive role model who leads by example. She brings her positive attitude and energy to not only class activities but to school activities as well, as she is an active in different areas of the school and community. As the Vice-President of the BFUHS Student Council she works to improve the school and community. Kayla worked dedicatedly on the recent Student Council food drive and is currently in charge of the BFUHS clothing drive for the needy in the community.

A talented performer, Kayla is also an active member of the BFUHS Drama Club and has performed in a number of productions.
