Bellows Falls Woman’s Club

BELLOWS FALLS -- Members of the Bellows Falls Woman’s Club will gather at Bellows Falls Union High School on Tuesday, April 8, for the annual club sponsored art show. Members should be at the school by 11:30 a.m. to view the art students’ work and to choose the Most Popular from among the categories of art on display.

A luncheon will be served by students in the Family and Consumer Science department. Following the meal, club members will be entertained by students in the music department. Winners of the pre-judged art show will be announced and monetary prizes, provided by the club, for first place winners as well as for the club members’ Most Popular selection will be awarded. The club will make a monetary donation to the band and choral departments as well as to the Family and Consumer Science Department for the luncheon. The club has sponsored this event for many years.

At the club’s March 11 meeting, a program on bullying was presented by Christine Bullard, social worker with HCRS and the Bellows Falls Police Department and Thaddeus Buckley, Police Department officer. During the business meeting, members voted to make donations to Prevent Child Abuse Vermont and to Greater Falls Connections.

The Bellows Falls Woman’s Club is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.

Tri Town Collectors Club

BRATTLEBORO -- The Tri Town Collectors Club will hold a Coin, Sports, Postcard, Family Hobby Show on Saturday, April 12, at the Holiday Inn Express on Chickering Drive in Brattleboro from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Many dealers and collectors from the tri-state area meet monthly with a daylong series of hobby activities that is packed with fun for the whole family. Besides the usual offerings of coins, currency, stamps and sports cards, there will be a special quiz for collectors at the coin club table giving away many interesting door prizes including a nice group of collectable quarters.

This month, three new coin collectors will be present, including a Canadian coin specialist. There also will be a collector with a large presentation of vintage sports cards and a comic book dealer. The group will hold nominations for its various committees and officers. There is no admission charge and anyone wishing to set up a card table to sell may do so by calling Joe Fuller at 802-297-1274.
