FORT HOOD, Texas -- Army Colonel Christopher Albus, son of Jane Crossmon of Vernon, Vt., and the late William Albus of Washington, D.C., and nephew of Pete Crossmon of Vernon, assumed command of the 166 Aviation Brigade during a June 30 ceremony at Fort Hood. He becomes the 9th Commander of the "Grey Wings" Brigade.

A 1984 graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, he takes responsibility for the training of National Guard and Army Reserve aviation units during their pre-mobilization and post-mobilization training in support of upcoming deployments.

Colonel Albus lives in Central Texas with his wife Christine, sons Matthew and Jon, and daughter Catie.
