BRATTLEBORO -- The Fashion Show and Luncheon scheduled for Sunday, May 4, sponsored by Brattleboro Emblem Club No. 517, has been postponed until the fall due to scheduling conflicts. The new date has not been determined yet. Club members apologize for any inconvenience.

Legion Auxiliary

BELLOWS FALLS -- Pierce Lawton Unit No. 37 American Legion Auxiliary will meet Wednesday, May 14, at 7 p.m. at the Post Home. A nominating committee will be formed to present a slate of officers at the June meeting. Any member interested in holding an office this coming year is asked to let a member of the unit know, or leave a message at the Post Home.

Sons of the American Legion

BRATTLEBORO -- Sons of the American Legion Squadron No. 5 will hold their annual meeting on Thursday, May 8, at the American Legion Home 32 Linden St., Brattleboro, beginning at 7 p.m.

At this meeting, election of officers will take place for the ensuing year. Squadron members are urged to attend. Due to health issues, there are vacancies which will need to be filled if the Squadron is to continue.

Cheshire County Retired

Educators Association

KEENE, N.H. -- The Cheshire County Retired Educators Association (CCREA) will hold its May meeting and luncheon on Tuesday, May 13, at the Best Western Sovereign Hotel in Keene. Luncheon hosts, Norma Walker and Joseph Cunningham, will welcome members to the social festivities provided from 12 to 12:30 p.m., with lunch served at 12:30 p.m.

The program for this final gathering of the academic year will be provided by Drum Waves, a Steel Drum band directed by Elaine Merrifield.

CCRE membership is available to any retired educator (teachers, administrators and educational support personnel) who currently reside or formerly served within Cheshire County. Prospective members are invited to call membership chairman, Ken Whitaker at 603-827-3702.
