Bellows Falls
-- David Parent, 48, of Rockingham, was arrested on July 29, for driving with a suspended license after police performed a motor vehicle stop along School Street.
According to Vermont State Police Senior Trooper Nicholas Arlington, Parent was stopped for a motor vehicle violation and investigation revealed his license was criminally suspended.
Parent was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date to answer the charge.
Brattleboro
-- Police arrested a local man on back-to-back days.
According to Brattleboro Police, Jesse E. Lafayette Jr., 52, of Brattleboro, was arrested for assault on July 27. The following day, he was arrested for criminal contempt.
Lafayette Jr., was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on July 30.
-- Ramon S. Soto, 36, of Brattleboro, was arrested on July 28, for criminal contempt after police said he violated his conditions of release.
Soto was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on Sept. 4, to answer the charge.
-- Michael T Johnson, 38, of Brattleboro, was arrested on July 31, for criminal contempt after police said he violated his court-ordered 24-hour curfew.
Johnson was lodged at the Brattleboro Police Department for lack of $1,000 bail and cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on Aug. 7, to answer
-- James Cleveland, 49, of Brattleboro, was arrested on July 23, for driving under the influence.
According to police, Cleveland was driving south along Canal Street at about 8:14 p.m., when he struck the open driver’s door of a parked vehicle with his Chevrolet truck.
No one was injured as a result of the crash.
Cleveland was cited to appear in Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division at a later date to answer the charge.
Windham
-- Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle crash along White Road early in the morning on July 29.
Police said 20-year-old Eric Smith, of South Londonderry, was driving a 2000 Audi A4 at about 2:29 a.m., and failed to negotiate a turn along Scott Pet Road and struck a tree. Smith and his two passengers were unharmed.
During the investigation, it was learned Smith had taken his father’s car without consent and he was cited for the alleged crime as well as operating after suspension, unlawful mischief and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Smith is scheduled to appear in Windham Superior Court Criminal Division on Sept. 18, to answer the charge.
