’Light of the world’ is topic at First Baptist

BRATTLEBORO -- Worship at First Baptist Church, 190 Main Street, begins at 10 a.m. Sunday school is in summer recess, but children are more than welcome.

Playing the historic Estey organ will be Helen Ruth Belanger. The prelude will be "In the chapel," by Walter O’Donnell. Other musical offering include "Lord of All" and "Romanescan." Lura Bacon will sing "Me and God."

Pastor Suzanne Andrews will preside over the baby dedication of Nanald Nain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Wango.

The sermon is "Jesus, light of the world," from the scripture found in John 8:12-20.

Following the service, all are invited to a time of refreshment and fellowship.

Understanding Baptism pondered at First United Methodist

BRATTLEBORO -- Worship this Sunday at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist sanctuary will be a celebration of Baptism, where the participants of a recent study "By Water and the Spirit: A United Methodist Understanding of Baptism" will share insight
