DUMMERSTON -- Worship at the Dummerston Congregational Church in Dummerston Center begins at 9:30 a.m. This Sunday is a Communion Sunday and a Hymn Sing Sunday. The parts of worship and meditation will all be chosen from hymns the congregation has requested.

The Children’s Story will focus on David as a boy shepherd and Psalm 23.Children begin in worship and go to an Open Classroom, which this week will feature a walk though the 23rd Psalm.

The Special Offering will go to replenish the Deacons’ Fund which is used to help church members and Dummerston neighbors with emergency needs.

Each Wednesday evening at 6 there is a Contemplative Prayer Group that meets for shared silence in the sanctuary.

After worship on September 9, a video of last year’s Apple Pie Festival and the preparation for it will be shown. Thanks to Theresa Maggio for her wonderful work in creating this digital history.

The Annual Meeting of the Church is on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. Annual Reports and Picture Directories are available in the church entrance.

The church continues to collect food, personal items and household goods, which may be left in the church entrance, for the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center.

The first rehearsal for the church choir under the direction of the Rev. Dr. Larrimore Crockett will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. New voices are always welcome.

meeting of the youth group for the new program year will be a cookout at the church on Thursday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. All youth in grades 7 through 12 are invited to join regardless of church affiliation. This group is primarily a social and service group, meeting monthly for fellowship and planning and periodically for fundraising, special events or seasonal activities. New participants should contact the pastor for registration forms.
