WEST BRATTLEBORO - All Souls Church Unitarian Universalist invites all to worship Sunday Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.
The All Souls Church Covenant promises that we will "honor our diversity as a source of communal strength," but what do we really mean? How do these apparent opposites combine in our practice of faith? This Sunday, voices from our congregation will respond to the theme of Unity and Diversity, particularly as presented by our Minister, the Rev. Barbro Hansson earlier in the month. The service will be led by All Souls member and Chair of Religious Education, Elizabeth Lewis.
The All Souls Adult Choir, under the direction of Tom Baehr, will sing the anthem for Sunday, "You Are The New Day" by John David.
The All Souls Church Faith Formation for children will continue exploring the theme of Unity this Sunday through the "Council of All Beings," an exercise in deep ecology developed by John Seed and Joanna Macy. Children spend time in the woods, choose element from nature, create masks and then speak for their element in a council format. Long time teacher and environmentalist, Charles Butterfield, will lead the Council of All Beings over three Sundays.
All Souls Church is a Welcoming Congregation and a Green Sanctuary located at 29 South Street across the road from the West Brattleboro fire station and village green. Faith Formation at All Souls Church is offered to children in first grade to ninth grade.
